Iran eyes to sell 2.3 million bpd of oil within six months

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec. 15

Trend:

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has defended the estimated figure of 2.3 bpd of oil that Iran looks to export within the first 6 months of the next Iranian year (starts on March 21, 2021) in the proposed budget bill, Trend reports via IRIB.

Rouhani said that the next year`s budget bill is based on the current capacity of the country, not what will happen to JCPOA, on which Iran's oil exports largely depend.

“Based on the announcement of the Ministry of Oil and the readiness of the Minister of Oil, the government has a plan to sell 2.3 million barrels,” Rouhani said during a press conference.

Rouhani pointed out that to him the system in the country and the country itself are important, not the government itself.

Speaking of the mentioned figure of 2.3 bpd of oil, Rouhani said the figure was based on the government's analysis.

“If the sanctions are be lifted, our oil exports will be 2.8 – 2.9 million barrels per day,” said the opresident.
