Three alternative renewable power plants worth 310 billion rials (about $7.38 million) were launched in the Razavi Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) today on December 15, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran.
A total of 150 billion rials (about $3.57 million) has been spent on the construction of a 660-kilowatt-hour wind turbine in the Khaf County of Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province.
The wind turbine will generate 2.23 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. At the same time, it will save annually 0.6 million cubic meters of fuel, 445 cubic meters of water, and prevent the spread of 1,350 tons of CO2 gas.
Furthermore, two solar panel power plants, each with a generating capacity of 1 megawatt-hour of electricity, have been launched in Mashhad city in Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province. A total of 160 billion rials (about $3.8 million) was spent on the construction of these power plants.
These stations can generate 3.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. In addition, it will save annually 1 million cubic meters of fuel and 770 cubic meters of water, and prevent the spread of 2,350 tons of CO2.
As reported, today, 14 water and electricity facilities have been put into operation in three provinces of Iran. A total of 2.67 trillion rials (about $63.6 million) was spent on the construction of these facilities.
