P&O Maritime Logistics names priorities in Azerbaijan’s oil & gas projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan.14

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

P&O Maritime Logistics’ priorities are to successfully operate in the current fields and to take on more challenges with Absheron, Umid Babek and Karabagh in Azerbaijan, the company told Trend.

“Presently we are working on several pipe-lay campaigns offshore, while at the same time supporting exploration and drilling, as well as oil and gas production – we look forward to seeing these opportunities grow in 2021. We currently own and operate 21 offshore ships in Baku and are one of the largest integrated offshore providers in the Caspian Sea with a fleet of 56 ships, tugs, and barges. Baku continues to be a home market, and we look forward to another successful year,” said the company.

P&O Maritime Logistics provides numerous services that can be applied to Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry. “Our services include logistics support, anchor handling, towing, emergency response, seismic support and subsea services.”

The results of P&O Maritime Logistics’ cooperation with Azerbaijan clients throughout 2020 have been very strong.

“Despite the challenges experienced in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have worked closely with oil and construction companies in Azerbaijan to deliver safe and efficient operations. We have been operating in Baku for 28 years and, whilst 2020 was a difficult period, Azerbaijan’s commitment to growing its oil and gas industries had not faltered. Likewise, P&O Maritime Logistics remains committed to being an employer of choice for Azerbaijan. At the end of 2020, over 99.4 percent of our team in the country are Azerbaijani citizens. We employ more than 600 team members onshore and at sea.”
