Volume of SOCAR Ukraine’s aviation fuel supplies revealed

Ukrainian subsidiary of the Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR imported 1,300 tons of aviation fuel from Belarus to the country in March 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Ukrainian media.

Imports of aviation fuel to the Ukrainian market decreased by 16.5 percent and stood at 7,300 tons in March 2021, compared to the same period last year (8,700 tons).

Supplies from Belarus decreased to 1,300 tons (82.7 percent less compared to February 2020), which were supplied by SOCAR Ukraine. Aviation fuel supplies from Lithuania, decreased by 41 percent compared to March 2020 and 4,400 tons, of which 1,700 tons were supplied to Amic Ukraine, 1,300 tons to Glusco Ukraine and 900 tons to SOCAR Ukraine. OKKO and Avia Oil imported 200 tons of Lithuanian aviation fuel each.

Around 18,800 tons of aviation fuel were imported to Ukraine in Q1 2021, which is 49 percent less than in January-March last year.

Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008.

The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012.
