Iran hopes to start exporting gas if Vienna talks are successful

TEHRAN, Iran, May 15

Trend:

During the sanctions era, neither investments nor the necessary up-to-date equipment has been provided for Iranian upstream part of the oil industry, so if Iran manages to normalize its relations with the world, the country's remaining semi-finished oil projects will be completed, Iranian oil expert Behrouz Namdari said, Trend reports via ILNA.

Referring to the positive impact of the Vienna talks on the development of Iran's oil and gas fields, Namdari said that the Vienna talks, in addition to resolving nuclear issues, could also have positive effects on other issues such as Iran's oil and gas sector.

If the Vienna talks are successful, Iran will be able to import world-class technology to complete the semi-finished oil and gas projects and increase the extraction efficiency, he said.

Namdari pointed out that the development of the LNG industry of Iran has been stalled for more than 15 years.

“This industry needs modern technology, and its sale is linked to international relations and interaction."
