By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The East Oil & Gas Production Company (EOGPC) extracted about 16 billion cubic meters of gas over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Executive Director of the company Farshid Kheibari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Central Oil Fields Company’s website.

According to the director, the company extracted an average of 43 million cubic meters of gas daily in the last Iranian year. Thus, the company's plan has been fulfilled by 104 percent.

Kheibari added that about 1.85 billion cubic meters of gas was injected into Iran's Shourijeh underground gas storage facility in the first eight months of the last Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020) and about 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas was received from the storage facility in the first four months of the last Iranian year (from March 20 through July 21, 2020). This is an increase of about 28 percent, and 18 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of preceding Iranian year.

“Starting from April 15, 2021, daily 7.5 million cubic meters of gas is being injected into the Shourijeh gas storage facility. In addition, daily 11 million cubic meters of gas will soon be injected into the storage facility after the repair of one of the compressors at the Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refinery,” he said.

The director emphasized that 1 well will be put into operation in the company’s territory in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022) and thus, daily 1.4 million cubic meters will be added to the production capacity. Also, 3 more wells are being drilled on the company’s territory.

As reported, the Shourijeh underground gas storage facility is located in Razavi Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran).

The East Oil and Gas Production Company is operating under the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The ICOFC extracted a total of 63 million barrels of crude oil and gas condensate and 70 billion cubic meters of gas over the last Iranian year.
