Turkey doubles crude oil imports from Kazakhstan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18

Turkey has imported a total of 433,456 tons of crude oil in February 2021 from Kazakhstan, which accounted for 17.72 percent of total Turkey’s crude oil imports for the month, Trend reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

Thus, Turkey’s import of Kazakh crude oil increased by 49.6 percent compared to Jan. 2021 (289,589 tons) and increased by 2 times compared to the volume imported in Feb. 2020 (207,437 tons).

Turkey’s import of crude oil from Kazakhstan from Jan. through Feb. 2021 amounted to 723,045 tons.

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey amounted to $531.6 million from January through February 2021, compared to $621.1 million during the same period of 2020.

Kazakhstan’s exports to Turkey amounted to $379.5 million from January through February 2021, compared to $494.9 billion during the same period of 2020.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from Turkey amounted to nearly $152.09 million over the reporting period, compared to $126.1 million during the same period of 2020.
