Azerbaijan exported 5.88 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey in the first 5 months of 2021, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
According to the SCC, the value of the export of Azerbaijani gas to Turkey amounted to $804.6 million.
From January through May 2021, Azerbaijan exported more than 9.17 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 67.9 percent more compared to the same period of 2020. In value terms, gas exports totaled over $1.33 billion.
Meanwhile, Turkey's share in the export of Azerbaijani gas amounted to 61.5 percent.
In 2020, Azerbaijan exported over 12.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 0.8 percent less compared to 2019. During the reporting period, natural gas exports in value terms amounted to about $2.19 billion (an increase of 7.2 percent compared to 2019).
In 2020, trade between Turkey and Azerbaijan increased by $ 187.296 million compared to the same period in 2019 - up to $ 2.221 billion. Turkey's exports to Azerbaijan last year amounted to $1.85 billion, and imports - $366 million.
