By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

Uzbekistan GTL became the first member of the US ASTM International in Uzbekistan with the right to vote when reviewing standards on behalf of the company, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

The ministry said that Uzbekistan GTL became a member of the US International Organization “ASTM International” as an organizational structure of the technical committee on petroleum products, liquid fuels and lubricants - D02.

According to the information, cooperation with ASTM International will allow Uzbekistan GTL to take part in the development, updating and approval of international standards, which will increase the authority and recognition of both the company itself and the oil and gas sector of the country.

In addition, the cooperation will make it possible to make the necessary proposals and carry out practical work on the recognition and approval of synthetic kerosene produced by Uzbekistan GTL at the international level as a ready-made fuel for aviation.

It was stressed that Uzbekistan GTL became the first and only organizational member of ASTM International in Uzbekistan with the right to vote when reviewing standards on behalf of the company.

In order to increase the country's export potential and import substitution of hydrocarbon products, the Uzbekistan GTL plant intends to produce and supply high-quality synthetic products to domestic and foreign markets. With the launch of the plant, among the synthetic products, it is envisaged to produce synthetic GTL kerosene, the use of which is currently allowed in a ratio of up to 50 percent with jet A-1 jet kerosene obtained from this petroleum feedstock.

At the same time, Uzbekistan GTL is actively working to organize cooperation with such world companies as Boeing, Airbus, GE aviation, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, to jointly study the possibility of using 100 percent synthetic kerosene in civil aviation.
