Iran's Mostazafan Foundation financing construction of several power plants

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 20

Some 7 power plants in Iran are being built at the expense of the Mostazafan Foundation of Iran, CEO of Saba Power and Energy Group Mohsen Amiri said, Trend reports citing the Mostazafan Foundation’s information portal.

Amiri noted that a total of 190 trillion rials (about $4.52 billion) has been spent on power plants that can generate a total of 1,230 megawatt-hours of electricity.

The CEO added that power plants that can generate a total of 360 megawatt-hours of electricity will be launched by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).

“With the full launch of the 7 power plants, the electricity generation capacity of the power plants created by the Mostazafan Foundation will exceed 5.5 megawatt-hours,” he said.

According to Amiri, furthermore, seven power plants of the Mostazafan Foundation are currently operating in Iran. These power plants generate about 4,400 megawatts of electricity, which is about 6 percent of Iran's electricity needs.
