BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 11

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

Natural gas consumption in Iran increased by 30 million cubic meters daily in the first half of the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 7), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Manager of the Dispatching Department of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Reza Joulaei said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Joulaei said that gas consumption in Iran has increased, as a result of faster cooling of the weather temperature in this year.

The official added that gas consumption at Iran’s thermal power plants, as always, was 240 million cubic meters.

“In addition, the natural gas consumption in large industrial facilities was 140 million cubic meters, while in housings – 220 million cubic meters,” he noted.

According to Joulaei, about 4 billion cubic meters of gas were stored into the Sarajeh and Shourijeh gas storage facilities in order to supply gas in the winter.

The official emphasized that the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) can currently supply 850 million cubic meters of natural gas to gas lines per day.
