Iranian Minister of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian held phone talks with his Tajik counterpart, Daler Juma, regarding further development of Iran-Tajikistan ties, Trend reports via IRNA.
Juma called for Iran's cooperation in building a solar power plant in Tajikistan, with participation of Iranian companies. In particular, he pointed to possible investments in this sphere in northern regions of Tajikistan, where a power plant could be built.
Ali Akbar Mehrabian expressed Iran's readiness to expand relations with Tajikistan in accordance with previous agreements.
The two sides agreed to hold a meeting in Tehran to follow up the mutual issues.
Back in June of 2021, the 14th meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic, Trade, Scientific, Cultural, Technical and Social Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Tajikistan was held, co-chaired by Iran and Tajikistan's ministers of energy in Dushanbe.
At the end of the meeting, Reza Ardakanian, Minister of Energy and Co-Chairman of Iran-Tajikistan Joint Commission, and Daler Juma, signed the final document of the 14th session of the Joint Commission and expressed hope that the document would lead to developing the bilateral relations.
