BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. Power generation of the Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant in the Qazvin Province (northern Iran) increased by 27 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to same month last Iranian year, the Director of Shahid Rajaee TPP Ali Farhur said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
According to him, the Shahid Rajaee TPP has generated a total of 955 million kilowatt-hours of electricity within the mentioned month.
"Of the mentioned volume, 465 million kilowatt-hours were generated by the combined cycle units of the thermal power plant, while 490 million kilowatt-hours - by steam units," the director said.
Farhur also noted that a total of more than 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated by the Shahid Rajaee TPP for the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022).
The Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant has 13 units. Four of them are steam units each generation capacity of 250 megawatt-hours, and the rest are combined cycle units. In total, the TPP can generate 2,040 megawatts of electricity.
