BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. Iran's Petropars Operation and Management Company (POMC) began drilling an appraisal well at the Bilal gas field in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), on July 4, the Executive Director of the POMC, Shamsaddin Mousavi told reporters, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
Mousavi said that drilling work is carried out by the Dana-Kish Drilling Company. It will also be possible to determine the extent of the South Pars gas field thanks to a well that will be drilled at a depth of about 4,300 meters.
In total, 8 wells will be drilled in the field as part of the plan for the development of the Bilal gas field. The plan will be implemented in 44 months.
In 2019, Iran's Petropars Operation and Management Company signed a contract with Pars Oil and Gas Company (POMC) on the development of the Bilal gas field.
According to the contract, 14 million cubic meters of gas should be produced daily from this field. This field is located in the east of the Iran-Qatar joint South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar).
