BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. Natural gas accounted for 36.43 percent of Azerbaijan’s total exports from January through July 2022, versus 17.68 percent in the same period in 2021, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Committee.
Azerbaijan increased natural gas exports by 5.33 percent from January through July 2022 as compared to the same period in 2021, with total volume of exports rising from 12.061 billion cubic meters (bcm) to 12.704 bcm.
The value of gas exports rose by almost 4.08 times from $2.015 billion in the first seven months of 2021 to $8.220 billion in the same period in 2022.
Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Europe began on December 31, 2020 with the commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor comprising of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion, the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
