Gas consumption in Iran expected to increase - NIGC

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 15. Gas consumption in residential buildings and commercial facilities in Iran is expected to increase to an average of 650 million cubic meters per day in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2022 through January 20, 2023), Manager of the Dispatching Department of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Mohammad Reza Joulaei said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

“Currently, gas consumption in residential buildings and commercial facilities in the country is an average of 590-600 million cubic meters per day. This is 60 million cubic meters more than in the same period last Iranian year,” Joulaei noted.

The official added that an average of 159 million cubic meters of gas are supplied to the country’s thermal power plants daily.

Joulaei also pointed out that Iran currently produces 977 million cubic meters of rich gas per day. After processing, 843 million cubic meters of gas are supplied to the country's gas network daily.
