BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.23. Natural gas output by Italian Eni company stood at 4,426 mmcf/d in the fourth quarter of 2022, showing a 6 percent decrease as compared to the same period in 2021, Trend reports with reference to the company.
The company’s gas production declined in Norway, Nigeria and Egypt, while Algeria and Mozambique saw an increase in output.
Eni’s liquid production amounted to 776 kbbl/d in the last quarter of 2022, also showing a 9 percent decrease compared to Q4 2021. Liquid output dropped in Kazakhstan, Norway and Nigeria, while rising in Algeria, Mexico and in the United States.
Eni lowered hydrocarbon output by 7 percent year-on-year due to the unexpected outages in Kazakhstan, domestic problems in Nigeria, the decrease in production in Norway and Egypt and natural decline of output in mature fields.
The production, which averaged 1.62 mln boe/d, was supported by launch of the Coral project in Mozambique and the Amoca project in Mexico, good performance in Algeria, also following the business acquisition, as well as in the United States.
“The sequential comparison reported a growth of 3 percent and benefitted from the resumption of activity in Kazakhstan and higher entitlements in Libya. In full year 2022, positive factors, including the progressive easing of OPEC+ production quotas (particularly in the United Arab Emirates) weighted more, resulting in a decline of 4 percent,” the company said.
Eni is an energy company operating in 71 countries worldwide and employing around 33,000 people. With the goals of improving access to energy in the countries where Eni operates and making maximum effort to reduce direct emissions of CO2, the company launched the Energy Solutions business unit. To ensure the long-term sustainability, Eni Energy Solutions looks for synergies with other lines of business, promoting the development of renewable types of energy and engaging in scientific and technological research.
