BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. The product sales of Iran’s Shazand Petrochemical Company increased by 10 percent in value and 5 percent in volume, during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Within 6 months, Shazand Petrochemical Company sold more than 467,000 tons of various petrochemical products worth approximately 133 trillion rials (about $3.18 billion), as was reflected in the company’s data.
About 5.3 percent of the company's total sales in value and 5.5 percent in volume accounted for exports. So, the company exported 25,789 tons of petrochemical products worth 7.08 trillion rials (about $169 million) in 6 months.
In the 6th month alone (August 23 through September 22, 2023), the value of the company's sales was around 23.8 trillion rials (about $566 million), which is an increase of 4.4 percent compared to the 5th month (July 23 through August 22, 2023).
At the same time, the company exported more than 6,000 tons of goods worth 1.54 trillion rials (about $36.7 million) in the 6th month.
On average, Iran's Shazand Petrochemical Company produces 306,000 tons of ethylene, 124,000 tons of propylene, 85,000 tons of heavy polyethylene, 85,000 tons of light polyethylene and other products per year.
Currently, Iran has an annual petrochemical production capacity of 92 million tons, which is expected to increase to 95 million tons by the end of the current year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
