Iran can export electricity to Europe via Türkiye

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 22. Iran can export electricity to Türkiye and member states of European Union via Türkiye, Iran's Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian said, Trend reports.

He made this statement at the joint 19th International Water Industry Exhibition and the 13th International Renewable Energy Exhibition in Tehran on Jan.22.

Mehrabian said that the required power lines connecting Iran and Türkiye have been constructed and tested successfully.

He also added that Iranian renewable energy power plant owners can use this tool to export their electricity as well.

The joint 19th International Water Industry Exhibition and the 13th International Renewable Energy Exhibition began today in Tehran and will last for three days.

Currently, the power generation capacity of all of Iran's power plants, including thermal, hydroelectric, nuclear, renewable, etc., is approximately 91,000 megawatt-hours. Of this, 82 percent is accounted for by the country’s thermal power plants.
