Iran’s Mazandaran Province boosts non-oil exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. Non-oil exports from Iran’s Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) rose by 12 percent in value and 49 percent in volume in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), compared to the same period of the previous year, the province's deputy governor general Hassan Kheirianpour said in Trend reports.

Kheirianpour noted that the province exported $282 million worth of non-oil goods, weighing 1.37 million tons, in 11 months.

He added that in the reporting period, 4.24 million tons of products worth $2.03 billion were imported to the province. Product imports increased by 46 percent in terms of value and 82 percent in volume compared to the same period last year. The imported products mainly included grain, edible oils, and animal and poultry feed.

The latest data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran exported about 125 million tons of non-oil products worth nearly $44.9 billion in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year. This represents an 8.87 percent drop in value but a 11.4 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.

Additionally, IRICA's data shows that during the mentioned period, about 35.8 million tons of products worth about $59.9 billion were imported to Iran. Iran's product imports increased by 11.1 percent in value and 6.4 percent in volume year over year.
