BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. Italy reduced oil purchases from Azerbaijan by 14 percent in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year, Trend reports, referring to Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee (SCC).

However, Italy bought 1.93 million tons of Azerbaijani oil worth $1.2 billion in the first three months of 2024, while from January through March 2023, the figure was 2.249 million tons for $1.4 billion.

Statistics show that Azerbaijani oil prices have risen.

Meanwhile, Italy received 11.12 million tons of oil from Azerbaijan in 2023, paying over $7 billion for it.

To note, Italy is traditionally on the list of leaders in the procurement of Azerbaijani oil, which is taken by several Italian refineries.
