Construction of the gas compressor station (GCS) near Astara at the Azerbaijani-Iranian border within the project of the gas supply to the Nakhchevan Autonomous Republic (NAR) complete by almost 90%, Azerigaz JSC told Trend. .
В"All necessary facilities and equipment are currently mounted at GCS. Laying of cables and lines remain”, JSC noted.
The GCS construction was envisioned to finish on 24-25 August. However, Azerigaz said, due to delays in supplies of equipment from abroad it will last till early September.
Azerigaz noted they are getting ready for transporting gas to Iran as of 1 September. The construction of GSC is carried out by the enterprise from Sumi (Ukraine). The price of the contract is some 80 billion AZM (about $17 million).
