The Salyan Oil Limited (SOL) operational company carries out drilling of the second production well on the contract area "Кyursangi-Garabagli", the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), project’s participant told Trend. The design depth of the well is some 3500 meters.
SOCAR noted, after commissioning the well the first stage presupposes it will be a water-injection well, afterwards Salyan Oil will re-profile it into the oil producing one. The company plans to commission at least 4 wells this year. The stock of wells of Salyan Oil on 1August 2005 was 242 wells.
Geological reserves of the "Рљyursangi-Garabagli" oil field are 100 milion tons of oil and the oil extracting factor is some 0,2-0,3. Potentially extracted reserves of the block are 25 million of the crude. With all these, the oil field is currently worked out for only 20%.
Salyan Oil is currently performs drilling of the last but one obligatory exploration well on the "Р'Р°bazani” oil field, part of the "Рљyursangi-Garabagli”area” The well’s depth is 3900 meters with the design depth of 4300 meters. The company has already fulfilled its commitments on this well for SOCAR, as it reached the definite geological cut”, SOCAR specified.
The SOL contractor is Chinese Great Wall Drilling, which implements works from two own facilities.
