In 2005 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 8,967m tons oil from the onshore and offshore fields of the country, or 9,000 tons less as compared 2004, the Company told Trend. In 2005 the oil and gas production units (OGPU) of SOCAR produced totally 7,973m tons oil, or 45,600 tons (0.6%) less as compared 2004.
In 2005 foreign companies within the joint ventures (JV) and operating companies (OC) producing carbohydrates from onshore fields with participation of SOCAR produced 994,100 tons oil, or 36,600 tons (3.8%) more as compared 2004.
According to SOCAR, during 2005 the total gas production in Azerbaijan comprised 5,818bn cu m, or 812,1m cu m (16.2%) more as compared 2004. The oil and gas production units of SOCAR produced 3,824bn tons gas, or 51.7m cu m more as compared 2004. In 2005 JV and OC produced 106.6m cu m gas, or 17.4m cu m less than 2004. In 2005 the Azerbaijani International operating Company (AIOC) produced 1,887bn cu m associated gas, or 881.2m cu m more as compared 2004.
