Azerbaijan reduced oil consumption by 44%

Azerbaijan reduced the oil consumption by 44% during 11 years in the period from 1993 to 2004, to 97,000 barrels daily, according to the Statistical Bulletin of the Italian ENI concern, Trend reports. The oil consumption in Azerbaijan in 1993 was the largest for this period and constituted 172,000 barrels a day. During 1993-2004 the lowest oil consumption was in 2002, making 76,000 barrels a day.

By the ENI data, the oil consumption in Georgia in 2004 reduced to 13,000 barrels a day from 57,000 barrels in 1993. During this period the lowest oil consumption in this country was observed from 2001 to 2003 (12,000 barrels a day).

ENI notes, Turkmenistan during this period increased the oil consumption by 11,8% to 66,000 barrels a day. The highest oil consumption during this period was observed in Turkmenistan in 2002 (68,000 barrels of oil per day), and the lowest - in 1995 (53,000 barrels daily).
