The top-hole section of wells in this field, as with many other Caspian accumulations, have significant geohazards that must be addressed in the drilling fluids and cementing program. These hazards include: Shallow water flow originating from the Apsheron formation, Low seabed temperatures at shallow water depths and presence of mud volcanoes.
This presentation will discuss the pre-planning, field trial and successful application of foamed cement at the Central Azeri platform.
