The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan closed a tender on sale of tanker consignment with profit oil from the Georgian port of Batumi in the Black Sea. The tender was announced on sale of 80,000 tons of oil (600,000 barrels) of oil of Azeri Light brand produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunsahli fields. German trader Select Energy Trading won the tender.
Oil shipment from Batumi is scheduled for 31 March 1 April 2006, Trend reports.
The Batumi Oil terminal is capable to handle up to 15 million tons of oil cargo a year. The terminal services the tankers of 30,000-90,000 tons deadweight on four berths, including the mobile buoy for the vessels of Aframax class. The capacity of the terminals tank stock is approximately 530,000 tons, which is Рјore than sufficient for handling the current and forecasted cargoes, passing through the corridor
