Rashid Javanshir was appointed the new executive director of BTC Co. Company established for managing the projects of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline,Trend reports with reference to the statement of AB Azerbaijan, operator of BTC Rashid Javanshir will take the position of Michael Townshend who was awarded with order Honour yesterday. Townshend will continue his work in BP.
Townshend has managed the construction project of the pipeline for 5 years. The pipeline was put into poeration and the first tanker was shipped from Ceyhan port.
Javanshir will manage the companys integrated onshore oil and gas receiving, processing and export operations across Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey in addition to holding the BTC Chief Executive Officer role.
Javanshir is a member of Azerbaijans National Academy of Science. He has been holding the position as a Vice-President in Aberdeen, where he was responsible for BP's Southern North Sea business since 2003
