Azerbaijan increases lending to regions

Bank loans to Azerbaijani regions stood at 2.3 billion manats in January 2019, which is 14.2 percent more than the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to CBA, loans worth 10.6 billion manats were issued in Baku in January, which is 4.6 times more than in the districts. At the same time, loans in national currency in Baku amounted to almost 6.04 billion manats, or 57 percent of the total lending in Baku.

In January, the average annual interest rate on loans in Azerbaijan amounted to 11.9 percent, and to 10.1 percent in Baku.
