Commercial banks' net profit of Georgia amounted to 132.01 million lari ($45.8 million) in December 2019, which is 48.46 million lari ($16.8 million) more compared to November 2019 and 12.91 million lari ($4.4 million) more compared to December 2018, according to National Bank of Georgia, Trend reports citing Georgian media.
As reported, the net profit of banks totaled 119.10 million lari ($41.3 million) in December 2018 and 83.55 million lari ($29 million) in November 2019.
The profit of commercial banks from January through September 2019 equaled 650.17 million lari ($225.9 million), while in the first nine months of 2018 – 602.33 million lari ($209.3 million).
In December 2019, the banks' revenues amounted to 452.79 million lari ($157.3 million), while their expenses amounted to 299.67 million lari ($104.1 million).
Revenues received by commercial banks from fines / penalties amounted to 5.87 million lari (over $2 million); the net profit / loss from conversion operations, i.e. currency transactions, amounted to 5.25 million lari ($1.8 million).
In November 2019, banks received 37.85 million lari ($31.1 million) from commissions and services.
According to the National Bank, banks paid 21.03 million lari ($7.3 million) in profit tax in December 2019.
