The number of trade enterprises is growing the fastest in Uzbekistan; as of February 1, 2020, their number grew to almost 104,500, showing an increase of 35.2 percent compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the Committee of Statistics of Uzbekistan.
Thus, trade is significantly ahead of other sectors - industry, construction, agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
According to the statistics, the main factor of growth in the number of trade enterprises and organizations was increase by 34.4 percent in the retail trade (the share in their total number is 62 percent). Wholesale trade increased by 36.1 percent (the share in their total number is 30.1 percent). As for the wholesale and retail trade in cars and motorcycles and their repair, the share of this sector increased by 37.2 per cent compared to the previous year (the share in trade is 7.9 percent).
As of February 1, 2020, the number of industrial enterprises and organizations made up 71,500 and increased by 21.2 percent compared to 2019. Meantime, the number of enterprises and organizations in the construction sector amounted to 36,800 units and increased by 22.1 percent compared to 2019.
Official statistical data show that 30,000 enterprises are engaged in agricultural, forestry and fishing activities in Uzbekistan.
Lodging and catering services are provided by 26,100 enterprises, transportation and storage services by 15,500. There are 8,000 enterprises and organizations registered in the sphere of information and communications, and the same number - in the sphere of health care and provision of social services.
