Bank loans to Azerbaijan's capital Baku and economic regions stood at 14.7 billion manat ($8.6 billion)as of May 1, 2020, which is 16.3 percent more compared to May 1, 2019, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to CBA, loans worth nearly 11.9 billion manat ($6.9 billion) were issued in Baku as of May 1 this year, which is four times more than in the regions. Loans in national currency in Baku amounted to 7.1 billion manat ($4.1 billion), or 60 percent of the total lending in Baku.
As of May 1, the average annual interest rate on loans in Azerbaijan amounted to 11 percent and to 9.2 percent in Baku.
