Turkmenistan announces its GDP growth data

Turkmenistan has announced its GDP growth rate for January through May 2020, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The GDP report was presented during a working meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The country's GDP growth rate for the above-mentioned period was 6.2 percent, compared to the same period last year.

For the mentioned period of 2020 production increased by 4.7 percent, while the retail trade - by 19.6 percent

The revenue part of the state budget was exceeded by 0.3 percent and the expenditure part of the state budget amounted to 94.1 percent.

The average monthly wage in the country increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same period last year. In addition, the country has allocated funds for salaries, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships in a timely manner.

Since the beginning of the year, construction of social facilities, housing, and engineering systems has been carried out in the country.

"GDP’s growth rate in the industrial sector amounted to 4.1 percent, 14.2 in trade, and 10.1 in transport and communications field. In 2019, export of products increased by 4.6 percent compared to 2018, exceeding 9 billion manat ($2.5 billion),” president of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said about the country's GDP for 2019 at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on February, 2020.
