The average monthly nominal salary of state employees in Azerbaijan reached 1,022 manat ($600) in 2019, Trend reports on June 17 referring to the data of the country’s State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, this indicator is 28.3 percent more than in the previous year.
As of January 1, 2020, the number of state employees in the country amounted to 29,400 people, of which 29 percent are women. Some 4.7 percent of the state employees held three top administrative posts in public authorities, 75.6 percent – posts from the 4th and 7th classifications, and 19.7 percent - auxiliary public service posts.
Meanwhile, 7.2 percent of the state employees have the length of service of up to one year, 23.5 percent - from one to five years, 23.8 percent - from five to 10 years, 16.6 percent - from 10 to 15 years and 28.9 percent - from 15 years and more.
Some 17.3 percent of the state employees are up to 30 years old, 16.3 percent - from 30 to 34 years old, 23.8 percent – from 35 to 44 years old, 19.9 percent - from 45 to 54 years old, 21.3 percent – from 55 to 64 years old, 1.4 percent - 65 years and older.
Over the past 20 years after the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘On public service’, a broad legislative framework has been created in the field of public service. Azerbaijan has established a modern public service system, and the necessary steps have been taken to increase professionalism and social protection of the population.
