Eximbank of India to establish financial co-op with Uzbekistan

Administration of Eximbank of India is interested in financing projects in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.

This became known during negotiations between the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India and the leadership of Uzbek Industrial and Construction Bank (Sanoat Qurilish Bank of Uzpromstroybank) and Eximbank of India via videoconference.

During the talks, deputy chairman of Uzbek bank Zafar Azimov provided Indian partners with detailed information about the bank, its activities and investment projects being implemented.

Eximbank of India was invited to participate in joint financing of socially important projects in Uzbekistan, particularly in production of hydrogen peroxide, pharmaceutical capsules and ionizers.

In turn, Chief Executive Officer of Eximbank of India Mukul Sarkar informed about the interest of the Indian side to participate in the implementation of these projects and expressed willingness to consider the proposals of the Uzbek side.

Following the talks, the sides reached an agreement to consider signing the relevant loan agreement, maintain regular exchange of necessary information and views, including the next negotiations in the near future.
