Total liabilities of Azerbaijan's Bank BTB show 1H2020 rise

The total liabilities of Azerbaijan’s Bank BTB OJSC increased by 19.8 percent from January through June 2020 compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports citing the bank's consolidated audited financial statement.

According to the statement, in the reporting period, the bank’s total liabilities grew by 48.9 million manat ($28.7 million), having reached 296.2 million manat ($174.2 million).

Meanwhile, most of the liabilities (42.6 percent) accounted for client deposits worth 134.4 million manat ($79 million), the volume of which grew by 15.3 percent. Some 82.8 million manat ($48.7 million) of them were term deposits (down 2.7 percent), and 51.6 million manat ($30.3 million) - demand deposits (up 63.8 percent).

A significant share of the liabilities also accounted for loans worth 126.3 million manat or $74.2 million (a growth of 12.2 percent) issued to other financial institutions.

Deposits to banks and financial institutions amounted to 5.5 million manat ($3.2 million), increasing by two percent year-on-year.

Liabilities to credit organizations and other financial institutions increased from 2.3 million manat ($1.3 million) to 21.5 million manat ($12.6 million), making up 7.3 percent of the total liabilities. The bank’s liabilities on issued securities amounted to 2 million manat ($1.1 million), while other liabilities – 3.5 million manat ($2 million), which is 26.8 percent more than in the same period of 2019.

"The bank’s authorized capital rose by 12.1 percent year-on-year and stood at 60.5 million manat ($35.5 million). The capital reserves made up 3.5 million manat ($2 million), which is 13.2 percent more than in the same period of last year," said the statement.

Thus, at the expense of decreased uncovered losses, the total capital of the bank grew by 13.2 percent and made up 64 million manat ($37.6 million).

BTB Bank OJSC was established in 2010. Currently, it has 17 branches.
