Amount of private sector investment in Iranian ports announced

The private sector has invested a total of 161 trillion rials (about $3.83 billion) in Iranian ports so far, Deputy Chairman of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO) Farhad Montaser Koohsari said, Trend reports citing PMO’s official website.

The chairman emphasized that the private sector has invested 55.7 trillion rials (about $1.32 billion) in Iranian ports in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

It is forecasted that the private sector will invest 18 trillion rials (about $428 million) in Iranian ports in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to March 21,2021), Koohsari added.

According to Koohsari, the private sector has invested about 3 trillion rials (about $71.4 million) in Iranian ports from the beginning of current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to date.

The chairman noted that the private sector has invested in the construction of grain warehouses, cooking oil depots, industrial facilities and others in Iranian ports.
