Assistance program of 200 lari ($62.36) for citizens, who left without income amid pandemic finishes in Georgia, Trend reports via Georgian media.
The 6-month assistance program was approved and submitted by Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia in April. According to him, 460 million lari ($143.4 million) was provided for assistance in the budget.
According to the statistics, 106 million lari ($33.05 million) was spent from the budget in total for assistance instead of the announced 460 million lari.
Assistance was issued for 6 months, but it was terminated immediately if other income of more than 10 lari ($3.12) was fixed on the beneficiaries’ account.
According to official statistics, 161,905 people have benefited from this assistance at least once in the last 5 months.
Compensation Statistics for the beneficiaries by months:
May - 14.426 million lari ($4.4 million) was transferred to 72,131 individuals;
June - 28.760 million lari ($8.9 million) was transferred to 143,801 individuals;
July - 25.486 million lari ($7.9 million) was transferred to 127,430 individuals;
August - 9.353 million lari ($2.9 million) transferred to 96,765 individuals;
September - 8.263 million lari ($2.5 million) transferred to 91,315 individuals.
