Foreign assets of Iranian banks increases

The foreign assets of Iranian banks increased by 46.4 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (from August 22 through September 21, 2020) compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Central Bank of Iran.

According to the statistics, the value of foreign assets of Iranian banks amounted to 744 trillion rials (about $17.7 billion) in the sixth month of current Iranian year. While in the same month last Iranian year, this figure amounted to 508 trillion rials (about $12.1 billion).

"The value of existing banknotes of Iranian banks amounted to 34.3 trillion rials (about $816 million) in the 6th month. This is a decrease of 27.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year," the statistics added.

Thus, the value of existing banknotes of Iranian banks amounted to 47.2 trillion rials (about $1.12 billion) in the same period last Iranian year, the statistics noted.
