Iran reveals tax revenue for first half-year period

A total of 302 trillion rials (about $7 billion) worth of taxes were paid in Iran during the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2020), Trend reports citing the Iranian National Tax Administration.

According to the report, 228 trillion rials (about $5.43 billion) worth of value-added tax was paid in Iran within six months.

“Furthermore, 29.5 trillion rials (about $703 million) worth of taxes on oil products (gasoline, etc.) were paid in Iran during this period, the report said.

At the same time, 124 billion rials (about $2.97 million) worth of taxes on other goods (agricultural, industrial, etc.) was paid in Iran in 6 months, the report added.

According to the report, 326 billion rials (about $7.78 million) worth of taxes was paid in Iran for six months to cross the border.

“Over the reporting period, 3.99 trillion rials (about $95 million) worth of taxes were paid on cigarette sales,” the report noted.

Also, 9.48 trillion rials (about $225 million) worth of taxes were paid on car transportation in Iran in the same period.

According to the report, 2.43 trillion rials (about $57.8 million) worth of taxes was paid in Iran for the provision of cars with license plates.

“In addition, 9.81 trillion rials (about $233 million) worth of taxes were paid in Iran on cigarette consumption,” the report added.

The taxes worth 18.8 trillion rials (about $447 million) were paid for other purposes in Iran during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year.
