Georgia's revenues from tourism decrease

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18

Georgia gained $15 million from tourism in October 2020, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The NBG notes, that Georgia rearned some $2.84 billion from international tourism in the first 10 months of 2019, while the figure was only $516 million in 2020, which is 81 percent less comparing to the previous year.

However, major share of the revenue ($427 million) accounts for the period before the coronavirus-related lockdown has been declared.

According to the Georgia Tourism Administration, 49,712 international visitors visited the country during October.

This is 92.5 percent less comparing to the same period in 2019.

As of the report, only 4,345 visitors arrived by air last month, which is 97.3 percent less comparing to 2019.
