By Zeyni Jafarov - Trend:

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is implementing a project to support the development of a startup ecosystem for countries that have joined the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program to reduce the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and drive economic growth, Trend reports referring to the ADB.

The project will cover Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Pakistan and China, the ADB said.

“The project with a budget of $500,000 will be implemented with the participation of international experts and young professionals and will contribute to economic development using information and communication technologies. This program also makes possible the implementation of initiatives related to digital transformation,” the ADB said.

The main goal of the CAREC program is to achieve rapid economic development and poverty reduction through mutual cooperation.

Since 1999, the Asian Development Bank has allocated $4.4 billion to the country within cooperation with Azerbaijan.
