Main source of self-financing for Tbilisi City Hall to be tax revenues

The Tbilisi City Hall government predicts the mobilization of 820.1 million lari ($248.7 million) into the budget by 2021, which is about 13 million lari ($3.9 million) less than this year, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to the project, the main source of self-financing for next year will be tax revenues, which are set at 657.3 million lari ($199.3 million), which is 66 million lari ($20.01 million) more than in 2020.

As for the distribution of income by type of tax, 462.3 million lari ($140.2 million) will be revenues from VAT (2020 - 411.4 million lari ($124.7 million)), 195 million lari ($59.1 million) - from property taxes (2020 - 180 million lari ($54.5 million)), including 160 million lari ($48.5 million)- the share corporate property. The City Hall expects revenue of 16 million from property tax on land.

Also, the government of the capital plans to mobilize 5.9 million lari ($1.7 million) grants in the budget for next year.

According to the initial document of the capital's draft budget for 2021, next year the mayor's office will spend a total of 840 million lari ($254.7 million), which is 261 million lari ($79.1 million) less than the current budget for 2020.
