New banknotes being put into circulation in Turkmenistan

The Central Bank of Turkmenistan is introducing new modified banknotes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Turkmen manat, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

All banknotes bear the symbol of the year - "Turkmenistan-the birthplace of Neutrality". The reverse side of the banknotes shows the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the Monument to the Turkmenistan Constitution, as well as previously depicted buildings on banknotes issued in 2014.

The front side of the banknotes shows the year of issue and a facsimile of the signature of the chairman of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.

The banknotes were introduced in order to strengthen the security features and improve the visual elements of banknote protection. The security elements of the 2020 banknotes have been strengthened.

All banknotes of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan of the samples of 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2017 continue to be remain legal in the country.

Earlier, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan introduced the modified samples of 2017 banknotes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 manat, as well as the release of commemorative gold and silver coins " Aşgabat Olimpiýa stadiony» during V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
