British and Uzbek ministers discuss revitalization of business council for trade and industry

The foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and the UK discussed the revitalization of the Uzbek-British Business Council for Trade and Industry, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Another round of Uzbek-British political consultations took place in the format of a video conference. The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development of Great Britain Wendy Morton.

The parties thoroughly discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in political, trade and economic, tourism, investment, scientific and educational, cultural, humanitarian, environmental, and other spheres.

In addition, a set of measures was analyzed in detail to diversify the structure of bilateral trade, revitalize the activities of the Uzbek-British Business Council for Trade and Industry.

Particular attention was paid to topical aspects of interaction within the UN and its structures, other international organizations.

Furthermore, proposals were considered for holding forthcoming joint events at various levels, improving the legal framework for cooperation, and developing inter-parliamentary dialogue.

The meeting also exchanged views on international and regional issues affecting the interests of the parties.
