Kazakh deposit organizations increase deposits allocation month-on-month

The volume of deposits in Kazakhstan’s deposit organizations amounted to 21.9 trillion tenge ($52.2 billion) in Nov. 2020, which is 0.1 percent more compared to Oct. 2020, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakhstan’s National Bank.

Deposits of legal persons decreased in value by 0.7 percent to 11.5 trillion tenge ($27.4 billion), whereas deposits of physical persons increased by 0.8 percent to 10.4 trillion tenge ($24.8 billion).

In turn, the value of deposits denominated in the national currency (tenge) increased by 2.6 percent in a month to 13.3 trillion tenge ($31.7 billion), whereas the value of deposits denominated in foreign currency increased by 3.8 percent to 8.6 trillion tenge ($20.5 billion).

The deposits dollarization level stood at 39.3 percent in Nov. 2020 compared to 43.1 in Dec. 2019.

Tenge denominated deposits of legal entities increased by 3.4 percent in Nov. 2020 has amounted to 6.8 trillion tenge ($16.9 billion), whereas foreign currency denominated deposits of legal entities decreased by 6.6 percent to 4.4 trillion tenge ($10.5 billion).

Meanwhile, tenge denominated deposits of physical entities increased by 1.7 percent to 6.2 trillion tenge ($14.7 billion), whereas foreign currency denominated deposits of physical entities decreased by 0.6 percent to 4.2 trillion tenge ($10.01 billion).

The value of time deposits amounted to 14.7 trillion tenge ($35.06 billion), has decreased by 0.9 percent in Nov. 2020 compared to Oct. 2020.

The weighted average remuneration rate on time deposits of non-bank legal entities in tenge amounted to 7.2 percent in Nov. 2020 compared to 7.2 percent in Nov. 2019, whereas the weighted average remuneration rate on deposits of physical entities was 9.3 percent compared to 9.1 percent in Nov. 2019.
