Large-amount loans issued in services sector in Iran

The Iranian banks issued loans worth 4.81 quadrillion rials (about $115 billion) in the services sector during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, 522 trillion rials (about $ 12.4 billion) worth of loans were issued for the establishment of enterprises and facilities in the services sector of Iran over the reporting period.

“Moreover, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.77 quadrillion rials (about $66 billion) as working capital in the services sector within the past nine months,” the statistics said.

At the same time, the loans worth 98.2 trillion rials (about $2.34 billion) were issued for repair work and 973 trillion rials (about $23.2 billion) for development in the services sector, the statistics said.

According to the report, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 21.8 trillion rials (about $520 million) for the purchase of personal assets, 26.2 trillion rials (about $625 million) for the purchase of housing and 396 trillion rials (about $9.45 billion) for the other purposes in the services sector.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth a total of about 12.2 quadrillion rials (about $290 billion) in various sectors over the nine months. The number of issued loans increased by 94.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
