Property sales in Iran soar

The sales of personal and real properties in Iran increased by 100 percent during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the chairman of Organization for Collection and Sale of State-owned Properties of Iran Mohammad Eftekhari said, Trend reports citing the organization.

According to the chairman, in total, the properties worth 15 trillion rials (about $358 million) were sold within 11 months. While in the same period last Iranian year, 7.53 trillion rials (about $179 million) worth of properties was sold.

Eftekhari added that personal properties worth 12.9 trillion rials (about $307 million) were sold over the 11 months. This is an increase of 82 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 7.07 trillion rials (about $ 168 million) worth of personal properties were sold in Iran in the same period last Iranian year.

“Furthermore, 2.15 trillion rials (about $51.2 million) worth of real properties worth were sold in 11 months. The real property sales increased by 374 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, real properties worth 454 billion rials (about $10.8 million) were sold in Iran in the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

The chairman noted that the organization operates on the selling of state-owned and non-state-owned property in Iran, as well as misappropriated property. The organization is also the largest organizer of auctions in Iran.
