Iran discloses amount of foreign investment attracted in Markazi Province

A total of $40.5 million worth of foreign investment was attracted in various economic sectors of the Markazi Province (central Iran) during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), Director General of the Economic Affairs and Finance Department of the Markazi Province Hassan Mirzakhani told IRNA, Trend reports.

The director general noted that the amount of foreign investment attracted within the mentioned period doubled, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Mirzakhani added that with the making of foreign investments, steel ingots, food additives and various dishes will be produced in Saveh and Zarandieh counties. About $7.75 million was invested in the production of steel ingots. The investors are from India, the UAE and China.

“While in the same period last Iranian year, $20.6 million worth of foreign investment has been attracted in the Markazi Province for the production of cosmetics, various medicines and construction of power plants. The investment was made by Iranians living in China, Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries,” he said.

The director also said that in total, 66 foreign investment plans worth $3.09 billion have been approved in the Markazi Province, so far.

The investment was made by Iranians living in Turkey and Britain, France, Afghanistan, Germany, India, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, South Korea, Denmark, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, China, Ireland, Iraq and other countries.
