The Azerbaijan Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund issued over 34,530 mortgage loans worth 1.84 billion manat ($1.08 billion) as of early July 2021, Yegana Ramazanova, spokesperson for the fund told Trend.
According to Ramazanova, the total amount of guaranteed loans issued in the reporting period exceeded 231.7 million manat ($136.3 million), and 872 apartments were sold by renting out with the option to purchase.
In May 2021, Azerbaijani banks issued mortgage loans worth 35.8 million manat ($21.06 million), which is 4.2 times more compared to May 2020. The mortgage loans were refinanced in the amount of 27.4 million manat ($16.1 million), she said.
The average monthly amount of loans issued by authorized banks of the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund in May 2021 amounted to 54,140 manat or $31,850 (against 51,575.4 manat ($30,338.47) in May 2020, which is the highest indicator for the entire period of the fund's activity.
